Pint Tapered Tin Cup

$52.00

We're proud to offer tin cups that are hand-crafted only in the U.S.A. Our Tapered Tin Cup is constructed using only lead-free solder, and like the originals, we don't line ours with a plastic coating.  This pint cup measures approximately 3-1/2" tall and 3-1/2" in diameter at the base, tapering to 3-1/4" at the top.  Free of any machine stamps. Style may vary slightly. Because all tinware is prone to rust, consult this instructional video on proper care and handling.

Has a tiny dent. Otherwise excellent.

Good Campaign Cup

This is a good, lightweight cup. I have had one for the last six years, and used it at every event. As long as you take care to clean and treat it after each event, it stays in great shape! It has held water, cider, soda, lemonade, grass, dirt, bugs... and who knows what else! As Graves noted though, be prepared with some kind of insulation if you put liquid of any extreme temperature in it. Cold or hot, you will feel the liquid right away if you knuckles touch the cup.

Love this new mug!

Just got this mug today--thank you, Townsends, for the quick shipping! It seems well made and looks period perfect.
I cleaned it, warmed it slightly, and applied a bit of beeswax to the outside.
My first drink was a mug of hot tea. The handle stayed surprisingly cool, much to my delight. My second drink was a hot toddy. After that....well I don't much remember, but the mug is still in one piece and ready for more.
Thanks, Townsends!

reliable long serving gear.

I have the older straighter mug but I've had it for YEARS,

That's how well this thing stands up. It is your basic tin cup. good for pretty much any war you're re-enacting or if the wife wants to get out the hand organ and send me round for collections.

Seriously it is a great mug and will look period correct pretty much anywhere holding anything from water to tea to beer.

So why only 4 stars? Insulation. There is none and heat will flow through this like nobodies' business. This is a real problem when it's the handle of your cup of hot tea/coffee.

It's easily solved by wrapping either string or a leather cord around the handle and then you are good to go.

A must have

I purchased this to use in my gear while in Afghanistan, and surprisingly it has held up quite well. It has yet to deform or fail me in any type of way after several months of very rugged use. I have used this for several liquids from soda to coffee and it has yet to rust or discolor. 10/10 would order again!
