Half Gallon Brass Trade Kettle
Trade Kettles were in use from the mid 1600’s all the way to the American Civil War. They were commonly traded with Indians, thus their name. Riveted dog-eared tabs secure the iron bail. Our Half Gallon Trade Kettle is about 7-1/2” in diameter, 4" tall, and holds approximately 2 quarts. These Trade Kettles are made of solid brass with folded and riveted brass ears and the interior is tin lined for food-safety. The sides on this kettle are slightly angled and the bottom is slightly rounded. Imported.
