This is an excellent cookbook - probably one of my top favorites. There is an excellent section on various cooking implements of the 18th century as well as tips and history and fun little tidbits of information. The book is spiral bound so it sits perfectly open and the pages are glossy so they stay clean. The photography is wonderful and vibrant and the receipts are easy to read and understand (no tiny print to contend with). I would highly recommend this cookbook to anyone who is interested in this type of cooking or who is involved in living history. I held back one star only because it’s pretty expensive for a cookbook (though I understand the price is probably higher due to production costs with lower volumes?) however, I don’t regret spending the money on this at all.

I am enjoying reading this cookbook. It has great historical info, orginal recipes and then an easier one below it for people like me who might struggle to understand. It has beautiful pictures. It is worth the price, in my opinion, just as reading material, even if you don't use it for actual cooking.
