Of Exceeding Beauty and Most Commendable Durability

These cherry wooden plates from Jas. Townsend and Sons have given right faithful service upon my table these many months past, bearing sundry repasts with noble grace and steadfast endurance. Whether bearing skewers of beef and roasted vegetables fresh from the brazier, slices of well-seasoned pork with herbs and pasta, or other wholesome fare arrayed with greens and beets, they present each dish in most handsome array. The warm, rich tones of the cherry wood glow softly by candlelight, lending an air of true colonial elegance to the board.
Wrought of good solid stock, they have withstood repeated use and the honest wear of knife and fork without complaint, neither warping nor staining unduly despite frequent duty. Paired with Townsend’s 18th-century style fork and eating knife, or set amid pewter, earthenware, and good wine, they complete a table that honours both the eye and the belly.
I commend Jas. Townsend and Sons for these plates of finest craftsmanship, which marry beauty with true utility in the manner of our forebears. They shall grace my hearth and gatherings for many years to come.
