Oysters were a wildly popular food in the 18th and early 19th centuries. They were plentiful along the East coast and inlets. In this episode, Brian Cushing, from Historic Locust Grove in Louisville, Kentucky, prepares a recipe for fried oysters and explains how they made it from ocean waters onto inland dinner plates.
