Wood Framed Sieve S-3490

Availability: In stock

Also known as a tammis or riddle, wooden hoop sieves like this were commonly used in both the 18th and 19th centuries. They were fitted with either wire mesh (like this version), horse-hair screen, or cloth fabrics of varying weave counts. This sieve measures 8-3/4" in diameter by 4" tall. Perfect for sifting flour and draining or straining ingredients. They were also used for drying fruits. Imported.
