Finally the fireplace tongs I needed!

I have been using BBQ tongs to move things around and pick things up in my fireplace for years and they always break or tangle up in the sticks. These little guys finally gave me the simplicity and durability I never found in modern kitchenware.

Perfect Tool

This tong is great, it can be used for almost anything you can think of. It is well crafted, nicely balanced and just the right weight. I recommend this for reenactors and campers as well.

Very useful and needless to say but, well made! Again... Nice Work!

Multipurpose Tool

These ember tongs have so many uses they should be considered a multi-tool. Just long enough to not burn your hand, but not so long so as to not be packable for a trek. Lost my first set. Gonna buy another.

versatile tool

My pair of ember tongs lives in the Colonial pipe rack on my fireplace mantle, but today it came in handy in an unexpected manner! Our vacuum cleaner hose extension tube had a clog that we could see but frustratingly could not be dislodged by the ramrod method or anything else. I could see something close inside one end, so I inserted one tine of the tongs and pressed against the side of the tube and was able to withdraw the clog: A bunch of tape and debris stuck to it.

Thanks, Townsend's!
