Our Deluxe Knapsack is a trekkers' dream and is based on documented period examples. The body is made of durable linen canvas, with high quality leather straps and leather reinforcement on the top and bottom where the straps connect. All of the stress points are hand sewn. Brass buckles keep everything closed up tight, and small leather strapping hangs from the bottom to easily tie a bed roll or other items used in the field. Measures 17" wide by 14" tall when closed. It opens to reveal two sizeable pockets, the secondary pocket is in the "lid" flap that is accessed through an opening in the middle, like a market wallet. Adjustable straps. made by a local leather worker here the USA.

Just what I was Looking for!!

I've been gearing up to start doing some overnight tracking and was looking for a period correct nap sack/backpack.
I found this and decided to treat myself to a nice pack instead of making due with a cheaper made one. I am glad I did. This is very well made and the only complaint would be the straps for tying your bedroll to could be a little longer and more flexible. I replaced them easy enough with some I cut from a tanned hide I had. Don't hesitate if you need a pack I'd say get it.

Exceeded expectations

I can not say enough good things about this knapsack. It is very well put together. It looks great. Plenty of room for the soldier on the march. The leather straps on the bottom are long enough to hold a good sized blanket roll. I'm very pleased with this investment. Huzzah!
