Squash was an incredibly important food source for both indigenous American peoples as well as early settlers. Along with corn and beans, these staples were called "the three sisters."

There were many uses for squash seeds in the 18th century. They were known to have medicinal properties, and they were pressed for their oil. Some Native peoples dried and ground them into flour with which they made a type of bread. And of course, they were also eaten out of hand.

Stony Brook makes delicious flavors, like Sweet Chili Butternut Pepitas. All-natural, they come in 3-oz. resealable pouches. These make a perfect healthy snack anytime you need a quick boost of energy — whether you're at home, on the trail, or at your next historical reenactment.

Scrumptious wholesome snack

I ordered a package of these when they were on sale -- Wow! I find them irresistible. I'm making the package go twice as far to prolong the enjoyment of these crunchy, melt-in-your-mouth pumpkin seeds. While I want to offer them to others, I am reluctant to diminish my supply. Best crispy snack ever and they are full of fiber! Magnificent! Review by sooner molly (Posted on 3/14/2018)
