You may have seen our YouTube video on how to make mushroom ketchup. Mushroom ketchup was a very popular condiment and cooking seasoning in the 18th century. Add it to soups and stews, or pour it over a finished dish or roasted meat. We were so impressed with how much Geo Watkins Mushroom sauce tastes just like the old recipes we’ve researched, that we decided to add it to our catalog. Comes in 190ml (6.4 oz) bottles. This provides a subtle flavor to dishes. as another reviewer said, like Worcester (originally made from fish going off, notice a trend?) but not as aggressive.
My favorite use is for deviled kidneys but I'm happy to explore other colonial recipes to see how this subtle flavor works in. (Posted on 8/30/2017)
