Printed Cotton Bed Cover - Twin Size

$48.00

Block-printed in a traditional fashion. The patterns we've selected are in the 18th century style. Use them as a bedspread or use the fabric as you like. Enough material to make two really unique petticoats.
These twin size bed covers vary a bit in size but are generally about 70" x 108".

Imported from India

Best Hot Weather Fabric Ever

I’ve worked at Blennerhasset Island Historical State Park off and on for the last 10 years. It’s a summer gig, and although the replica house has air, the tour guides are more often than not outside in partial shade. WV summers have reached 90’ with heavy humidity for a month or more at a time. The dress I made from this fabric was the best I had. The thin linin- like feel was thick enough to not cling when I got sweaty, but light enough to not be heavy/hot. It even breathes enough to feel a breeze through it. The fabric is beautiful too. I got lots of compliments when I wore it.
I made a Georgian style dress that fit over a blue petite coat. There was enough fabric for a Georgian without a petticoat, but I was very thin then. I recommend 2 bedspreads to do a Georgian style, unless you are petite or a very talented seamstress. As I got older (and bigger lol) I changed it to a Regency style by pulling fabric from the over-skirt part and adding it into an altered bodice. Both styles are acceptable at our park. Now that I’ve lost some weight, and worn the last dress out I’m getting ready to start another dress. It’s so nice that you can pick the print now! (it was a bit of a grab bag before). Now I just have to settle on a print. They’re all so pretty, it’s hard to choose!
