Night was setting in, one of the cold spring nights of the north; and it was discovered, soon after they left the ship, that in their haste they had forgotten to provide him with a boat-cloak. He, however, forbade them to return for one; and when one of his companions offered his own great-coat, and urged him to make use of it, he replied, "I thank you very much; but, to tell you the truth, my anxiety keeps me sufficiently warm at present." What a great cloak

I've had one of these for years and it is amazing.Thick wool lined, with a mantle over the shoulders. In cold weather you throw it over your shoulders and your good to go.

In warmer weather like spring ad early fall, it's your bedding. more than once I've just wrapped up in my cloak and gone to sleep.

and for those dramatic gestures there's something nice about throwing the cloak open to show the public a uniform beneath.

After several months

Update: I love this cloak and have been wearing it now on a regular basis. It's warm and heavy and stops the wind, though it won't really wrap around in front for me (this would be less a difficulty, were I slimmer). The integral shoulder cape will sometimes catch the wind and blow up around the back of my head; perhaps it could be sewn in place so as not to do that. All in all, a practical and well made garment.

Warm, could be larger

This is the first cloak I've found that is actually heavy and warm. It feels like a serious garment, rather than a mockup of a garment.

I wish it were about six inches longer, and a wide enough to overlap in the front. As it is, in winter weather, one may need to wear a coat under it.
