  • Nobody did it better than Ceruti. His "genre portraits" are a veritable gold mine for serious historical reenactors and living history interpreters. He focused on the people we portray, ordinary yeoman class people whose lives reveal the fiber and texture of their times. Dressed in a dress patched upon patch, she wants us to notice her ring and her earbobs. She offers us wine for our journey, and the promise that we will find uncommon beauty in the dignity and hope of ordinary people. Thank you for this post.
